ExperienceYes started with an assignment in an Executive MBA classroom at the University of Denver. The Professor challenged the class: “Turn something you love into a business.” Bruce took that prompt seriously. He wanted to take the tools of improv to spark innovation and stronger teams and develop content
and training that would be fun, relevant, and measurable.

And measurability is where they made the BIG leap. From there, Bruce and Gail blended the core “rules” of improv with neuroscience research and began teaching them as a foundation for creativity, culture, and smarter collaboration. This work expanded into a full suite of team transformation programs. They partnered with a PhD in Organizational Development from ASU to develop an assessment that measured the human skills most needed in teams and businesses today and have shared this work as authors and speakers, including The Improv Mindset, which explores how improv principles change brains and business outcomes.

Their mantra? Curiosity keeps the engine running. Along the way, they’ve connected with researchers studying creativity in the brain and pursued projects that examine how improvisation lights up neural pathways – like being involved with research on improv performers’ brains. The throughline is simple: when people practice the language of improv and presence, they solve problems faster and create cultures that win.
